The sunshine people.

Solar, batteries and proper aftercare for West Country homes. Fitted right by the third generation of the same family, and yes, that is our actual van.

What we fit

Three trades, one tidy van.

Everything below is surveyed, priced in writing, and installed by NICEIC-approved hands. No subcontracted mysteries.

Aftercare & healthchecks

Solar is a 25-year relationship, not a drive-by. We test, tune and look after systems for the long haul, ours and other people's, so the numbers you were promised keep turning up.

Big roofs welcome.

Barns, workshops and warehouses have the best roofs in the county and the daftest daytime bills. We fit commercial and agri arrays too, up to 40kW with 30kWh of storage on a single site so far.

How the job goes.

No mystery, no sales theatre. This is the actual route from "wonder what we'd save" to switched on.

The look

Week one · free

You send three details, we come back with honest arithmetic. If your roof isn't right for solar, we say so and save everyone a fortnight.

Sunny says: a north-facing roof isn't a dealbreaker, but we'll tell you straight if the numbers don't dance.
02

The drawing board

A few days later

We survey properly: roof, rafters, fuse board, the lot. Then you get a fixed written quote with panel layout, kit list and payback maths. No sixty-page PDF, no "sign today" nonsense.

03

The date

You pick it

We book scaffold, order your kit and turn up when we said we would. You'll get a text, not a "window between 8am and the heat death of the universe".

04 Sunny the mascot carrying a solar panel

The big day

1 to 2 days on site

Panels up, inverter in, battery on the wall, everything tested to BS 7671. Dust sheets down and the drive swept before the van leaves.

Sunny says: the kettle's the first thing we test. Priorities.
05

The easy bit

Forever after

We register your MCS certificate, set up the app and sort the export tariff paperwork. Then you watch the meter behave itself. We're on the phone if anything ever needs us.

On the tools, as ever.
Old hands

Three generations of sparkies.

Sunny's is the solar arm of CW Electrical: three generations of electricians in the same trade and the same patch, often in the same van. The sunny jacket is new; the standards underneath it aren't. Proper electricians, proper paperwork, no drama on your roof.

  • MCS-certified installs, the certificate that unlocks export payments.
  • NICEIC-approved contractor, everything to BS 7671.
  • TrustMark & QANW backed workmanship, in writing.
  • DBS-checked crew in branded kit, drive swept on the way out.

The whole story

Size up your house.

Pick your house, pick your bill, flick the battery switch. We'll do the arithmetic while you watch the panels land.

Honest ballparks for a West Country roof, not a quote. Battery sums include charging cheap overnight in winter, and the 25-year figure assumes energy prices keep creeping up 4% a year across the panels' warranty. The survey writes the real numbers, which is why it exists and why it's free.

Asked every week

Fair questions.

Does solar actually work in cloudy Bristol?+

Yes. Panels run on daylight, not holiday weather. A typical 10-panel array around here makes about 3,400 kWh a year, grey days included; they just generate with less swagger.

What's the payback, honestly?+

Usually somewhere between 7 and 11 years depending on your usage, tariff and whether you add a battery, and the kit is warrantied for 25. We put your number in writing before you decide, which is the whole point of the free estimate.

Do I need a battery?+

Need, no. Want, probably. Without one, your unused daytime power is sold to the grid for pennies; with one, it runs your evening instead. The estimate shows both versions of the maths so you can judge it on numbers, not vibes.

How disruptive is the install?+

Scaffold goes up a day or two before, the install itself is usually one to two days, and we test everything before we leave, kettle first. Dust sheets down, cables clipped, drive swept.

Do I get paid for what I export?+

Yes. Every install comes with the MCS certificate that qualifies you for export payments, and we sort the paperwork as part of the job. The meter can, in fact, run the other way.
