Not a quote. Assumes a roof facing anywhere from east to west, someone home some of the day, the October to December 2026 price cap and 12p a unit for export. Battery sums include charging overnight at about 7p when the sun can't fill it. Your survey comes with a proper MCS estimate for your roof, and that's the one to trust.

Tell us your address, your bill and how to reach you. We look at your roof on satellite and send a written estimate: system, guide price, payback. If solar doesn't suit your roof, we say so.

The survey and quote
When it suits you · free
Roof, rafters, loft, fuse board. Then a fixed written quote with the panel layout, kit list and payback maths. The price doesn't move after this.

The paperwork and date
Before install · you pick the date
We handle the grid application, book the scaffold and order your kit. If the network operator has to approve the system first, we tell you how long that takes.

The install
Usually one to three days on site
Panels up, inverter in, battery on the wall, everything tested to BS 7671. Dust sheets down, drive swept.

Switch-on and after
Install day, then for good
We commission the system, register your MCS certificate, set up the app and sort the export paperwork. Then we're on the end of the phone.

What's the payback, honestly?
Usually somewhere between 6 and 12 years depending on your roof, your usage and whether you add a battery, and the panels are warrantied for 25. We put your number in writing before you decide.
Can I spread the cost?
Not yet. Finance will only ever come through an FCA-authorised partner, and we'll say so here the day it's live. Until then the estimate shows the cash payback, in writing.
Does solar work under a Somerset sky?
Yes. Panels run on daylight, not holiday weather. Ten panels on a south-facing roof around here make about 4,600 kWh a year, grey days included. Facing east and west, about 3,700.
Do I need a battery?
Need, no. Want, probably. Without one, your unused daytime power is sold to the grid for pennies. With one, it runs your evening instead. The estimate shows both versions of the maths.
What if something breaks?
Panels carry a 25-year performance warranty, inverters and batteries carry the maker's warranty (10 years with Fox ESS, 15 with EcoFlow), and the workmanship is guaranteed through QANW. All of it is written into your quote, and we're on the phone if anything needs us.
Who actually turns up?
Our NICEIC-approved, DBS-checked team. The engineer who surveys your roof is part of the team that fits it. Not a sales rep.
How disruptive is the install?
Scaffold goes up a day or two before, the install itself is usually one to three days, and we test the lot before we leave. Dust sheets down, cables clipped.
Does my roof qualify?
Most do. Listed buildings and conservation areas need a check first, and a north-facing roof isn't a dealbreaker. We'll tell you straight if the numbers don't add up.
